To activate larger muscle groups we recommend using Flowgun on one of the higher speeds for about 2 minutes, on smaller muscles about 1 minute. Just enough to stimulate blood circulation, but still not breaking down muscles fibers which is beneficial for performance and preventing injury.
For an active recovery where you want to loosen up tight fascia as well as stimulating blood circulation you will have to massage for longer durations. For larger muscle groups we recommend 10 minute treatment, and smaller muscle groups for 5 minutes. While doing this you actually break down a small portion of muscle fibers. This is why longer massage durations is not recommended before exercise, since it can inhibit performance.
